The St. Joseph River Basin Commission and the Michiana Area Council of Governments (partners with the Michiana Stormwater Partnership) will hold a public meeting at the Elkhart Conservation Club in Elkhart, IN on Monday, January 25, 2016 at 7:00 pm. The purpose of the meeting is to inform all interested persons about the beginning of a new study on Cobus Creek watershed. Attendees will also have an opportunity to share local knowledge about areas of interest in the watershed which will be incorporated into the study. The study will look to gain a better understanding of Cobus Creek watershed's environmental health, identify water quality issues and potential improvement projects, and suggest resources in the watershed that may benefit from preservation. Cobus Creek watershed includes portions of Cass County, Michigan and Elkhart and St. Joseph Counties, Indiana as well as Cobus Creek, Garver Lake, and Pleasant Lake.
The Michiana Stormwater Partnership (MSP) will have an informational booth set up at the 2015 St. Joseph County Annual Health Fair on June 4, 2015 from 8:00am to 4:00pm in the lobby of the County-City Building, 227 W. This conference will focus on planning and technical issues as they apply to stormwater drainage. Lunch, sponsored by the exhibitors, will be provided. The Michiana Stormwater Partnership and MS4 entities from Elkhart and Kosciusko Counties are co-hosting a contractor workshop on February 24, 2015 at the Del-Mar Banquet Hall in Nappanee, IN from 7:30am to 10:30am. The Michiana Stormwater Partnership will be hosting a workshop on Thursday, December 18, 2014 from 9:00am until Noon on the 11th Floor Conference Room (MACOG) in the County-City Building, 227 W. Jefferson Blvd. South Bend, IN 46601. This is a "Train the Trainer" type workshop that will be presented by Christopher B. Burke Engineering, LLC, and intended for MS4 entities who need assistance with preparing for upcoming IDEM audits for Municipal Operations Pollution Prevention and Good Housekeeping.
